betabase.info is a site where women submit their betas so they can be compared with others. Most websites (and Dom's textbooks) only list ranges of appropriate betas for each week of pregnancy. Because betas are supposed to double every 48-72 hours, the range is HUGE for each week. This website separates them by days past ovulation.
After comparing my beta of 350 to others that are 15 and 16 days past ovulation (DPO), I had a mini-freak-out. I think I was 15 PDO but there is a possibility that I ovulated a little early and would be 16 DPO. Here is how I compare:
Single Pregnancies:
DPO.......Median HCG.......Lowest HCG.......Highest HCG
15............138.......................3............................2088
16............199.......................5............................2744
Twin Pregnancies:
DPO.......Median HCG.......Lowest HCG.......Highest HCG
15............263.......................19..........................1954
16............397.......................33..........................2194
Triplet+ Pregnancies:
DPO.......Median HCG.......Lowest HCG.......Highest HCG
15............350.......................16..........................2010
16............541.......................16..........................2883
See why I am freaking out! Yes, my beta of 350 is still in the single range but it also compares nicely with the twin and triplet pregnancies.
We have decided to get another beta on Saturday. It will be 48 hours since my last and it will be nice to have another number to compare to these. betabase.info also has charts to compare the doubling time of betas.
I'm still focusing on staying pregnant but it just gives me one more thing to consider.
