I have a good friend that has recently started a blog. I enjoy reading her posts. It gives me a glimpse into her life but also, I had the thought that she will enjoy reading her own posts in years to come. I love that idea. I have always been one that has enjoyed journaling and keeping up with my photos. I like reliving old memories. So, I thought it would be a good idea to start a blog. Just another fun way to keep my life documented.
Me...I am 27 year old. I live in Kansas City with my husband of nearly four years, Dominic, and our two cats. I am Speech-Language Pathologist in an elementary school. I spend my summers as a nanny. In general, I take care of other people's children. But we have no children of our own yet.
Husband...He is 26 years old. He is an Internal Medicine Intern. He takes care of other people's parents/grandparents.
We met at the end of our sophomore years of college at Mizzou. We dated for 3 years (one of which we "lived in sin") before getting married on May 30, 2004.
The first few years of our living together/married life were quite exciting. We spent two years living off student loans (me in graduate school, Dom in medical school), followed by two years of stretching my teacher's salary to support us both. We both earned post grad degrees. I have changed jobs twice and Dom got his first job 3 years into our marriage. We have moved four times in five years, including a move to Florida and back. We bought our first house and survived the stress and anticipation of "Match Day" (finding out where Dom would go for his residency).
But now, we live a pretty simple life. We both work hard and use our weekends (if Dom is lucky enough to get a day off) to recover from our week. On a really good weekend, we will see our amazing group of friends or Dom's parents.
Humm, doesn't sound like I am going to have too much to write about! Hopefully I will think of something.
